When most people think of Branson, Missouri, the vibrant entertainment district likely springs to mind. This area along Hwy 76 and Shepherd of the Hills Expressway is a hotbed of shows, adventure parks, themed restaurants, and other family friendly captivating attractions. With so much to do in this area alone, you could easily spend an entire week exploring it. From heart-pounding mountain coasters to themed eateries and the iconic Branson Ferris Wheel, this district caters to families and groups of all ages.

Historic Downtown Branson: A Nostalgic Stroll

Venture further east along Hwy 76, and you’ll find yourself in charming Historic Downtown Branson. Lined with independently owned shops, cafes, and restaurants, this area has a quaint and welcoming ambiance. The walls are alive with murals, and guests can easily explore the district aboard Sparky, the free downtown Branson Trolley.  This district calls visitors to discover its unique treasures.

Branson Landing: Shopping and More

If you’re looking for a blend of shopping, dining, and family entertainment, Branson Landing was made for you. Situated along Taneycomo Lake, this linear outdoor mall boasts hundreds of stores, restaurants, and entertainment venues. Stroll along Promenade Way, the district’s pedestrian-only main street, and make sure to catch the choreographed hourly displays of water and fire at the Branson Landing Fountain.

Silver Dollar City: Where History Meets Thrills

The Silver Dollar City Experience

Ranking consistently as the top theme park in the U.S., Silver Dollar City is always a family favorite. Themed around the 19th-century gold rush in the western U.S., the park offers a variety of rides for all ages, over 100 demonstrating craftsmen, captivating shows, and lively festivals. With the recent announcement of a new indoor coaster set to debut in spring 2024, the park’s offerings continue to grow.

Silver Dollar City is open from March through December and offers several spring, summer, fall, and holiday events throughout the year.  We recommend going in September after labor day as there is typically a lull between summer and fall visitors.

Whitewater: Splash into Fun

Whitewater is a medium-sized water park that operates from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Spread across 13 acres, it features over 2 million gallons of water rides, slides, and waves. A full day of family fun awaits at this aquatic adventure!

Showboat Branson Belle: A Unique Voyage

Embark on a truly distinctive experience aboard the Showboat Branson Belle. This grand ship, the largest built on a land-locked lake in the U.S., harks back to the showboats of the 1800s. Savor a delectable dinner while enjoying a captivating show against the backdrop of Table Rock Lake. We recommend a sunset cruise during mid or late summer, allowing you to enjoy a summer sunset above deck before indulging in dessert and entertainment.

A Golfer’s Paradise: Branson’s Golf Courses

With over 10 golf courses in the Branson and Hollister area, golf enthusiasts are spoiled for choice in Branson, Missouri. From courses designed by golf legends like Gary Player, Tom Fazio, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, and Arnold Palmer to scenic views that take your breath away, Branson’s golf offerings are unparalleled. Notably, the Top of the Rock Golf Course made history as the first Par-3 course included in a professional championship.

Table Rock Lake: America’s Favorite Lake

One of Branson’s most distinctive features is its close proximity to Table Rock Lake. As a part of the White River System, this clean and pristine lake offers exceptional boating opportunities for water sports and fishing. Renowned for bass fishing and secluded coves ideal for relaxation, Table Rock Lake caters to both adventure seekers and those seeking serenity.

We enjoy docking our boat at the Port of Kimberling, but there are several excellent options across the lake including State Park Marina and Indian Point Marina near the dam.

Taneycomo Lake: A Trout Anglers Paradise

Trout fishing enthusiasts will find their haven in Taneycomo Lake. Despite being called a lake, Taneycomo behaves and fishes more like a tailwater because it is fed from the bottom water of Table Rock Lake. With a consistent temperature year-round, it boasts excellent rainbow and brown trout fishing, including the Missouri state brown trout record (40.4 lbs). Guided outings in the trophy area are a great way to ensure an unforgettable angling experience.  You can also wade fish near the dam, but as with other tailwaters, make sure to monitor water levels and check generation schedules before entering the water.

A Taste of Wilderness: Big Cedar, Top of the Rock, and Thunder Ridge Amphitheatre

With its proximity to Bass Pro Shop’s world HQ, legendary conservationist, and Bass Pro founder, Johnny Morris has left his mark on the area in a big way.  Big Cedar, Top of the Rock, and Thunder Ridge Amphitheatre, owned by Bass Pro Shops, offer a unique blend of dining, hiking, and outdoor experiences. Whether you’re enjoying a meal at Devil’s Pool or reveling in the vistas at Top of the Rock’s Osage Restaurant, these locations bring nature and indulgence together in perfect harmony.
